I Have No Idea How I Did This by Holmes-JA I Have No Idea How I Did This by Holmes-JA
It involved a hypertile and ngon but there really wasn't any method to this madness. Rendered with Apophysis 7x15.

It could be an alien sea creature or an extraterrestrial engine, but fascinating no matter what it is. :) (Smile)

It's looks like the path into the heart of an alien ship.

What's a hypertile?

It's a type of fractal variation and I don't really understand how it works, but it makes some neat fractals if the stars are aligned properly.

xD I know that feel! I felt the same way when Cycles came out for Blender. But now I absolutely cannot do without that and it's node editor (Internal has nodes too but it all works a bit differently). It about kills me that I have to use the old Internal method to make my more complicated matcaps behave properly. I'm positive there's a trick somewhere, but I haven't figured it out yet.

I once tried to learn Blender but my brain melted after a short time :P

A variation for xforms.

What is an xform? I'm sorry if it's obvious, I'm still working myself up to try Apophysis. These terminologies seem to be a little bit general, so I was hoping for clarity still.

The triangles in the Editor you create the actual fractal with.
One xform (triangle) can have multiple variations that each affect each other, and the whole fractal itself.
It's difficult to understand (and even more difficult to explain), so sorry if this wasn't that helpful.
I learned to try to understand it by simple working with Apo7x. If you haven't already, you should really try it out, it's free! :)
